Hei värkkääjät ja makerit,
hyviä uutisia meidän puoleltamme: olemme jälleen järjestämässä tee-se-itse-kulttuurin festivaalia. Tänä vuonna järjestämme tapahtumamme la 10.11. Ison Omenan kirjaston ja Palvelutorin tiloissa. Viime vuonna olimme samoissa tiloissa hieman eri nimellä - Espoo Mini Maker Fair. Tänä vuonna palaamme alkuperäiseen ja autenttiseen sielunmaisemaamme ja kuljemme taas nimellä Wärk:fest.
Mutta festivaalimmehan ei olisi mitään ilman värkkääjiä. Toivotamme tervetulleiksi kaikki innostuneet värkkääjät järjestämään workshoppeja, esiintymisiä ja tietysti legendaarisia värkkäyspisteitä. Kuten aiemminkin, pyrimme tukemaan värkkääjiä materiaalisissa hankinnoissa sekä legendaarisella backstagella eväspisteineen. Tänä vuonna järjestämme myös afterpartyt Espoon alueella: kiireisen päivän jälkeen pääset sosialisoimaan kollegojesi kanssa hyvän tunnelman kanssa

Viime vuoden palautteissa kiiteltiin erityisesti värkkääjien luomaa tunnelmaa ja mahdollisuutta päästä kokeilemaan värkkäyspisteillä erilaisia tehtäviä. Sijaintimme kauppakeskuksessa toi myös paljon uteliaita ensikertalaisia sekä satunnaisia ohikulkijoita, jotka innostuivat ja ottivat osaa molempina tapahtumapäivinä. Laskennallisesti kaksipäiväinen tapahtuma keräsi noin 4000 kävijää. Tapahtumaan saapui myös osallistujia perheineen aina satojen kilometrien päästä. Olemmekin ylpeitä siitä, että näiden vuosien aikana ollemme pystyneet luomaan tapahtumia, joissa tekijöille ja osallistujille jää hyvä mieli sekä mielenkiinto ottaa osaa jatkossakin - etäisyyksistä huolimatta

Hi makers and welcome again to our festival !
Good news come from our direction as we are organizing this year another DIY culture festival but this year with the name Wärk:fest 2018. Last year we organized the event with Maker Faire licensing, but now we are returning to our original and authentic roots and with this change the name to Wärk:fest. The place of event stays same, Iso Omena Library and Palvelutori located in Espoo. The event will take in place on Sat 10.11.
But a festival would not be a festival without its people. Thus we are happy to invite you to participate again the festival with a maker booth, workshops or presentations. As usual, we are sponsoring the material resources (as possible) and provide the backstage with good food and drinks. This year’s speciality will be also makers’ afterparty hold in Espoo. After busy day you’ll be enjoying your colleagues and splendid atmosphere! Remembering last year’s event we got feedback that especially atmosphere from the makers and possibilities to learn wide variation of making were things that participants enjoyed. Also the location in the mall brought new and curious passers-by to participate and many of them stayed full two-days with us. Our measurements gave an estimates of 4000 persons visiting the two-day event. Some regular participants even travelled hundreds of kilometres to take part. We are proud that during these years we have managed to create events that bring happiness to their participants and enthusiastic interest to participate in future also. No matter the distance needed to do so
Thus, you are most welcome to create DIY culture to heart of Espoo this November!
