Wood, metal and minor electronic work help for short film

Hi,

We’re a small team of hobbyists making a short film this autumn, starting filming in early September. We need help for props!

Looking for someone who can help us. We’re interested in any arrangement - we’ll pay for any material and related costs and some compensation for the effort.

We need to make two items (times two):

  • a hook for a shepherd’s cane (30-40cm 180 degree arc, wooden, 3,5cm - 4cm diameter. A bolt in one end for attaching it to our telescope sticks. Other end should have a hook for lantern.
  • A “magic wand” with a bit complicated design. Easier to explain with illustration (below):

The chips that are entered into the wand are made from iron, but they should have embossed runes on top that can be lit from the side using an e.g. LED strip. There should be a bottle on the other end of the wand with blue glowing liquid. It could also be just a test tube if suitable bottle is not easy to find. The magic wands in question are filmed from very close and needs impeccable detail whereas the shepherd’s canes are ownly shown in the dark and don’t have so strict detail needs.

We have 70mm wide metal chips and U profiles for one wand - the other wand can be thinner.
